It started in 2011 as a playful yet serious campaign by Maxtor—timed perfectly before April Fool’s Day.

Our Backup Recovery software is for Dell ECS CAS and S3. Our very narrow product offering started in 2012 with EMC Centra and was then expanded to EMC ECS (CAS) in 2016. We added ECS S3 support in 2024 and will offer incremental S3 support in 2025. This is for customers with existing S3 buckets, now wanting to create new buckets and migrate their data to use cloud copy.
